Hi, everyone! I've got quite a bit to cover today, so let's get to it!
First off, we had a lovely beach day on Wednesday. I did incredible, as always, but I'll turn it over to Mom to tell you about that (don't want to sound too terribly vain even though I totally am).
Dachshund Mommy: Nola really is incredible. She had a flawless, absolutely flawless, recall, was perfectly attentive, listened to and followed everything I asked her and even voluntarily did what's basically a loose heel the majority of the walk we took. She was off leash 100% of the time, and we passed several people. Nola stayed at my side, attentive to me and ignoring the people. I'm so proud of my little Bug!

Come!
Y'all have heard about the big Blogville Valentine's Day Ball, hosted by Mollie and Ranger, right? Well, guess who has a date? That's right; ME! I'm going with the oh-so-handsome Wolfie of The Lonely Dogs. Just look at him!

How hawt is he? *fans self*
When it gets closer to the date of the dance, I'm gonna need all my girlfuriends (BFFs Lily and Muffin, Ruby, Puddles, Sasha, Tootsie, DWM Tasha and all of you!) opinions of what to wear!
Remember Saturday when I told you about the new "friends'' I'd be telling you about today? Well....
it's
a
pregnant
GOAT!
Yup, you read that right; the peeps got a pregnant goat on Saturday. Her name is Daisy.
After the last fiasco incident when we first moved in, we now have:
- filled the hole the neighbors dog dug into with cement
- planted bushes along their side
- called Animal Control (who did absolutely nothing)
- the goat has her own pen within our yard
- we will run a hot wire to keep the dogs out if need be
- we will not hesitate to shoot the dogs if they come into our yard again
Anyway, back to the goat. She's about 20 months old, and is a Lamacha (milking breed) doe. She's very sweet and very curious! This is her first pregnancy, so we're expecting one baby sometime between now and March, but given her size I think about mid-Febuary. The kidding (birthing) process will be documented here, of course!
Yup, the ears are kinda weird (Shrek, anyone?). But hey, we have chickens with no neck feathers.
The pen (we are currently building a new shelter)

Feel free to guess whether Daisy's baby is a girl (doeling) or a boy (buckling)! If she has a girl, we'll keep the baby.
The peeps are going to check out another girl goat to bring home today. We'll see!
Kisses and Tail Wags,
Dachshund Nola
